We are currently seeking a dynamic and motivated intermediate level Geotechnical Engineer to join our team in our Auckland office.

Job Description:

As a Geotechnical Engineer at Geoconsult, you will have the unique opportunity to learn and grow in a supportive and collaborative environment. You will work closely with experienced professionals on a variety of projects. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting geotechnical investigations and site assessments.
  • Performing fieldwork, including soil and rock testing.
  • Supervising drilling contractors and fieldwork management.
  • Collaborating with senior engineers to enhance your skills.
  • Preparing geotechnical reports and recommendations with the guidance of experienced senior engineers.
  • Contributing to project design by providing geotechnical input.
  • Monitoring construction sites and assisting in solving geotechnical challenges.
  • Learning and applying geotechnical software and analysis tools.
  • Supporting the team in achieving project goals and deadlines.

Qualifications and Experience:

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following skills and experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology or a related field.
  • Approximately 2 to 5 years geotechnical experience with at least 2 years in New Zealand.
  • A good working understanding of fundamental geotechnical engineering principles.
  • A strong desire to learn and grow in the field of geotechnical engineering.
  • Familiarity with common geotechnical software and analysis tools.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Enthusiasm for hands-on fieldwork and data collection.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
